RIMM target decreased 25%

Following Research in Motion’s (RIMM) launch from the Rim Bold 9790 and Rim Curve 9380 (set hitting stores right before the holidays), Canaccord Genuity technology analyst Michael Walkley decreased his cost target to $21 from $28, observing slowing down sellthrough trends for that new Rim 7 mobile phones yesteryear couple days. Mr. Walkley stated:

“. . .using the launch from the apple iphone 4S, progressively cost competitive Android mobile phones, enhancing Home windows mobile phones, and also the launch from the Amazon . com [AMZN] Amazon Kindle Fire tablet, we anticipate growing competition across all tiers of RIM’s items in C2012.”
He added, “Since RIM lately postponed its QNX-based PlayBook OS 2. [for Rim pills] era stating BES [Rim Enterprise Server] software integration difficulties, we feel this indicates growing execution risk to starting new BBX mobile phones within the near-term. Actually, we expect BBX Rim products shipping around mid-C2012.
